What's wrong with carbon fiber? Just curious what you're thoughts are.

I use carbon fiber to make stiff, like really rigid castings that take a hard hit well and fail in a predictable manner. I wondered about a rigid yak hull once but cast that aside for the way carbon fiber is strong right up to the point where it really breaks in a spectacular manner...no hints or gradual stuff, just Ka-RACK! Still, I like carbon fiber up there with good ol' fiberglass. Rikki's and Diane's yaks I used carbon fiber on the inside of the deck and hull, and used "ribs" versus many complete sheets. Rikki's yak weighed in almost 10 pounds lighter then mine. I believe carbon fiber is best suited for tension myself. Your thoughts?

If it was cheap my all time favorite would be Spectra but that's not happening in the predictable future.

I'll be away from a reliable Internet conncetion for several days, but I'd really like to hear your thoughts on CF.
