Material: Kevlar/glass layup

Hi, I'm building a kayak from kevlar and fiberglass, and am wondering about the layup. It's not a whitewater kayak, and i dont plan on hitting a lot of rocks or anything. I have enough material for the following layup: glass mat, kevlar, glass mat, kevlar. Will these four layers provide enough strength? Can i get away with using less layers on the top? I was thinking i could maybe leave out the bottom layer of glass mat on top. thanks for your opinions.
