These aren't "needle" type syringes. These are baby, oral syringes, used to give medications orally to infants. The tip is about 3/4" long and the opening is approx. 1/8" inner diameter. I get these at any pharmacy or drug store. I sent Chip some pictures of what I use and how I set them up, so if he has the time or space available on his site, he may post them here so you can see them. If not, I will email them to you as well. Just look in the section where they keep all the infant stuff like thermometers and bottles and such.

What you are thinking of are the needle type that can be picked up at most animal feed stores for giving shots to animals. I used to pay just a few $$ for a dozen of them when I gave my dogs shots myself. Those would be for inserting epoxy into air bubbles and the like.
