: I spent a lot of time reading all the old posts on the Cormorant and now that
: I am ready to buy plans I find myself leaning toward this boat again. I
: like the fact that I can easily scale the boat up for me and scale it down
: a little for my nieces use.

: My only concern is the initial stability. I know I can adjust to it, just
: concerned about a first timer. Anyone, just wondering if anyone could tell
: me how it compares to a round bottom boat? If the feeling was similar? I
: recently got to paddle a ... forgive me, a plastic boat. A Necki Manatou I
: think it was. Round bottom and it feels very tippy at first. Within a 15
: minutes it was fine.

Just takes a little experience, you get used to the tippy in a couple weeks. Most kayakers do this, start out with a fairly wide stable boat and gradually over a period of years get narrower and narrower boats. Yep, feels tippy at first, after awile though you'll notice it has gotten stable, ie: you have gotten used to it :)
