Welcome aboard!

if you do a search for "newbie", "beginner", "first time" or "help", you should get more info than you will ever need.

First you need to decide what type of kayak you want to build (Stitch & Glue, Strip, hybrid or a Skin on Frame). Cost will be anywhere from $200 (SOF) to about $1000 (build kit from many different dealers).

There are experts on this site who can answer your questions much better than i can, but till then please search and enjoy the info they have already given.

: where to get started and how much this might cost; well, at least a price
: range to consider. I welcome any advice.
