Rich -- My local source for cedar (such as it is) insisted that the wood I was buying is "Inland Red Cedar." Could be, but it looks, smells, handles, and seems to weigh the same as Western Red Cedar. The stuff I was able to get in Phoenix is cut from smaller trees & avoiding all knots was impossible, but I expect the boat to float!
