I’ve found redwood strips to be brittle. I wouldn’t use any strip that had grain runout. If it’s straight though go for it. WRC is much easier to work with though. Especially if your having to force the strip into a curve or twist.

Aesthetically speaking, and this is purely my opinion, a little redwood goes a long way. I prefer it used as an accent strip instead of a main portion of the body.
