Last year, I built two Chesapeakes. I started with one, with my husband grumbling that we didn't need "no more stinkin boats". Well, by the time I had the deck on the first one, he was asking when I was going to start his? That took care of No. 2 for the winter. We've paddled them all over the northeast this summer, and have vastly preferred the singles to the tandem canoe. We do MUCH better in separate boats. With winter looming on the horizon, the idea started to form for the next boat....like I need another boat. Well, need has nothing to do with it, so I went out this morning and bought a pile of cedar and cut it into strips tonight. Forms are cut, strongback laminated up... So yes, you are among those who understand completely the "need" to build another one. Build on!
