Hi Brett,

Sorry to hear about your less than ideal trip to Canada. Don is right, the difference between mayhem and solitude is one portage. I just spent 4 days canoeing with my 4 year old son in Nopiming Park in Manitoba and saw 0 (zero) other people, that's solitude and a great way to spend quality time with a son (or daughter). Although there was walleye in the lake we were on, we spent all of our time fishing for smallmouth bass with surface lures and caught (and released) over a hundred in the 4 days. You want to get a kid hooked on fishing thats how to do it, my son was smiling from ear to ear during the whole trip.

If your planning another trip up North, let us know what area you are interested in, there are plenty of us Canucks on this board that will point you in the right direction.

Take care!

Ken

P.S If you come to Manitoba, and your shoulder is healed, bring your hockey equipment, we play Wednesday nights during the summer. The weather is hot and the beer is cold! :)
