: Hi Shawn,

: Do you recommend the notch (on deck and hatch) or do you think the pull tab
: is better? My seal shouldn't have the tendency to stick. I am using an
: open channel epdm seal which has three raised sections along the top. I
: hope that it seals!

I think the pull tab--I like the very clean look of the notch, but it can sometimes be a pain to remove with cold, tired fingers.

: Do you have a suggestion where to install the pull tab best and what size
: would be appropriate?

Put it on a "Corner"--not on the middle of a side, or at the peak of the deck. Make it big enough to get a finger into--if your fingers are all tired and cold, you can stick a piece of small driftwood into it and grab it with your whole hand.

3/4" Polypro or nylon webbing should work fine.
