I don't really like the standard sliding foot controls either. I tried the foot pedals from Global Outfitters. They attach to the regular Feathercraft footbraces and work like a gas-pedal control. They are OK, not necessarily the ultimate solution but better than the standard system.

: an adjustable line to the cable? Using some of this fancy singlebraid

: Haven't thrown it into the water yet but seems to me that Feathercraft
: should get on the ball, this is too easy to not make as an aftermarket
: item for a lot less than Sealines new set-up.
