A relatively thin coat is enough. If you end up with glossy, you applied too much. I find it easiest to apply the seal coat with a roller.

: How thick should the seal coat be. I did kindofa sloppy job, probably rushed
: to much. My panel has some spots that have a smooth glossy raised surface
: and some that are very thinly covered that still 'feel' like wood.

: The seal coat is only to soak into the wood, right? Does the thin coat
: accomplish this or should I apply the thicker coat?
