It probably easier to get the sheers fair if you have a full length strip so scarf those but join the rest on the form. Spend a couple minutes matching color and grain instead and nobody will see them, unless you want to use contrasting color or grain and make people see them. I use small c clamps over short strips covered with tape on inside and out to align strip ends will glue dries.
