Hi,

I took a look at the "Varathane" link posted on this thread and the product looks good. I know that varnish is one of those topics that gets worked over (and over) and there are as many opinions about it as there are brushes to apply it, but I wonder if anyone can give a straight forward account of why a proper varathane would (or would not) be better to use in place of varnish on a stripper. I wonder if perhaps the "hardness" of the finish material is a draw back considering that however "tough" varathane may be, it still will have it's UV properties degrade over time and need to be sanded down and recoated. Perhaps this is the best reason to use varnish = that it can be easily sanded and recoated. Any takers, ha, ha !!
