I'm still using 1/4" thick strips, and I'm
: doing canoes and half-canoe bookcases. trying to reduce the
: fragile knife-edge left when a 1/4" radius cove is milled into a
: 1/4" thick strip.

i tried this on my first boat (hiawatha). i do not suggest it! while it does make the edge less fragile it makes it impossible to make tight curves without leaveing an after sanding gap that is way too big to ignore.
