Like Bill said, a site is generally one's overall web presence. A web page is usually a single document. A website is a group of similar documents linked together. Right now, you're looking at a web page, but the Kayak Building BBS is a website. It could also be considered one part of the larger Kayakforum website.

Your home page could be just that, the single page you call "home" on the Internet. Alternately, it could be the "gateway" page to your website. Not to be confused with your browser's "home page" where it points to as a default, whenever you start up the browser software.

: Also, if I were to move my kayak album to an AOL web page anyone wanting to
: see the pics would have to leave the BBS to access the photos. Assuming
: they then want to return to the BBS does that incur and extra cost to
: Nick? Either by way of additional traffic or line charges?

What I was talking about, George, was that I used to be able to post a photo from my free Geocities website and have it show up on Nick's BBS. Now, the photo is no longer remotely accessible, but anyone can go to my Geocities site and look at the photo, under one of my pages. Linking between my site and Nick's costs us nothing--you can jump back and forth as many times as you wish. The only cost would be if traffic jumped from a few hundreds or thousand hits per month to a few million (like becoming a hot, new kayak porn site) then Geocities might shut me down, because that volume of traffic would become highly inconvenient to them.
