: Rehd,

: Just remember that it wasn't really free before. Everytime someone went to
: photopoint, advertisements were put in front of their eyes.

Good Point!

Do you think
: tha the advertisements will go away?

No, I'm sure they won't. But... I never looked at them, so my feeling is, I never paid them for the use, so..... ?? That's free to me.

One of the main things for me is that
: their "improvments" have made the site slower and more
: cumbersome.

Same for me!

As a company they have every right to do what they have done,
: but as a customer, I have the right to leave.

You are very right there as well and that is what I'm doing.

I have also been wanting a
: real website. This gives me a good opportunity to do it. Between Tammy who
: is in gaphic design, and myself (a software developer), we should be able
: to set up a website. I've just been having too much fun building kayaks.

My thoughts exactly, except I haven't the slightest clue how to build a site. But, I have a neighbor who does and he needs to learn how to do woodworking. Fair enough trade? I'd say yes. He's on his way with the new tools, and some actual working experience as I helped him build a large plywood cabinet for his table saw with castors and dropdown extention table on the back. He's getting my site built and then will show me how to do stuff and add pictures and so forth. Then I will be a bit more independant, so to speak. After 20+ years of singledom I didn't think that was possible. :)

: Back on topic. :)

Right on!!

: How is your walrus doing?

Funny you should ask! I got off the over time list at work ( it was killing me ) and now come home and have real time to work on it. I have just finished stripping out my house and have some down time from that. The barn is all done except painting and the boys down the street are going to do that in a couple of weeks. The garage is about done to the point that I can get my "Wing" in there and have room for the StrongBench. :) :) :) The past two nights I've been finishing the floors and getting ready to add the final Gunwhale. I left it off to facilitate getting to the floors easier. I'll be glueing and sanding the next few evenings and Hopefully will be able to skin the hull this weekend. I'm not holding my breath, but, it's starting to look much better. :)

I've been laying strips in Tammy's Spring Run, and
: my older brother an I are building another plywood Walrus.

: Mike

I'm seriously considering that as well, but, will start on the Great Auk first. Going over to get the materials for the forms on Friday and will start cutting out same as time permits in the evenings. I've gotta hurry if I'm going to take something to the R2K1. I put in for a site as well, but, haven't heard if or which as of yet.

More later...... Rehd
