: If you put the top on very securely, and store the can upside down, the skin
: will form on the top of the liquid, which will be the bottom of the
: container the next time you open it. The rest of the varnish will be in
: fine shape. Store the can in an old bowl, just in case it leaks.

I tried this so many times and either ended up with a leaky mess or a lid that I distorted out of shape trying to get off cause the seal was glued tight with the dried varnish.

And how the hell do you pour or dip out of a can without the mess in the lip? I tried the nail holes in the lip to drain the varnish but that screwed the seal.

Thanks but no thanks, I've never had better luck than with the Mason jars. Just don't tell the wife where they're disappearing to.

All the best,

Rob Macks
