I'll look in the direction of Hypalon polyesteer/nylon.

about being cheap - I think the skin for a sof kayak is something
one should NOT (!) be cheap about. :)

about that elast-o-seal that stretches 1000% & 400%,

I don't think that's a good idea.
I think we need a kayak to be as stiff as possible, so the energy
goes to pushing the boat forward, & not to stretching/bending the hull.

I'll do some searching in the baidarka mailing list. (never been there, yet...)

from you I learned that the latex paint I was doing homework about
is not the way to go.
the Linseed oil info is also useful.

I'm planning a complete breakdown type of boat.
something like Gerald Maroske.
I'm not sure when will it happen, I'm just doing homework.

from you I learned that the Hypalon is what Klepper uses, so I guess
it IS the real thing.

I'll do some homework with McMaster.
