Erez,

Hypalon over polyester or nylon is THE way to go. But if you are cheap, you might want to try Elast-o-Seal and Snow-Roof. They stretch 1000% and 400% respectively. It wont be as durable as the Hypalon, but it is a non-toxic elastomeric paint.

Check the link below for a Building Your Own Folding Kayak page. It has links to builders pages and to the Baidarka Mailing List. The people there should be quite helpful. I'm hoping Peter will bring his Retrieval Kayak to R2K+1 this year. He brought his daughter's mini SOF guillemot last year.
