Just leave it alone. It is too easy to obsess over the little details - like the 1 ounce blob of epoxy inside your boat 8 feet forward of the cockpit opening. This is literally a case of something that no one but you will know about. The weight savings which you may realize from gouging the blob out is not worth the risk of messing up the structural fiberglass layers on the inside of the hull. If you mess up the glass, the repair will be a bear.

For what its worth - I launched my coho about two months ago. Neat boat. Every time I take it out about half the trip is spent discussing the boat with bystanders. I have even been stopped on the water by power boaters curious about a wood kayak - kind of fun. Relax on the building - no one will see your errors but you - especially if they are on the inside!
