I was hoping someone would have the picture, but since no one did, heres a sketch. Note that it is NOT to scale.

For 2 foot braces you will need 4 T-nuts (I believe they are 1/4" x 20 threads/inch, (4) 1/4-20 hex-head bolts, and washers as desired.

All hardware needs to be stainless steel. The hardware should be available at any boat supply store like West Marine, or Boaters World.

At each end of the foot braces, fab (1) block of wood (shown as walnut color) to hold the T-nut. The block needs to be about the same width as the footbrace and slightly taller than the T-nut. The length is as desired. More length will give you more bonding surface. On my slider braces for my rudder on the Triple I made the block run the full length of the footbrace so that the footbrace wouldn't bow in the middle of the brace when I put pressure on it.

Drill a hole in the block the same diameter as the T-Nut and cut a vertical groove for the flange of the T-nut. Wet the wood in the hole with resin to seal it before pressing the T-nut in with a vise. The sharp tines on the T-nut will dig into the wood preventing it from turning. Put grease inside the T-nut threads to prevent any resin that might get in there from sticking to the threads.

Screw the footbraces onto the T-Nut blocks and bond in the kayak with resin. Unscrew the footbraces and coat the rest of the block with resin to seal the wood. Once cured, re-attach the footbraces.

Note: It's a lot easier to locate and bond the footbraces on by using the front hatch for access, before you put the bulkhead in.

I hope I didn't forget anything.

Good luck
