: Me again---John,

: I have been setting here looking at the picture I posted and thinking about
: what I was told I should do and something just struck me. I had tried to
: do a roll bevel on the cedar strip I was going to put on and I ended up
: with practically no stock on the end and I would have sanded through it
: while fairing and I still had the problem of crossing the 90 degree corner
: edge on the pine which puzzled me also, So.... I think the bevel has to be
: on the pine strip so I have complete stock at end of my cedar strip.
: Common sense would make you think it didn't matter which strip the bevel
: was on but I am beginning to think it does but I can't explain why. I
: think I can do this now.

I'm sure all of the regular strip builders understand what happened to me. All of the strips I have put on my boat, the loose one to be next glued on was the one I put in my jig and tapered. Always. So I tried to taper this piece and fit it to the strip already on the boat. On all of the strips I glued to we will call that surface edge surface(A),but in this case I was going from surface to the inside surfice of the already fastened strip that we will call surface (B). So the glueing surface running from (A) to (B) must be faired into a smooth rolling taper so we can call it (A)once more. When you don't do this you run into corner edge of the strip running from (A) to (B). It seems so simple now but at the time I was at my wits end.
