I've got a yellow cedar paddle Aleut style that is 8 ft long with a 1 5/16 x 1 5/8" loom it weighs 44 oz . My un-oiled red cedar Greenland paddle weighs 26 oz and 88" long. A 90" spruce paddle weighs 35 oz with tips of yew.

Despite red cedar being so light it is strong enough. I get my cedar off the beach.
