Here's something that has worked well on my Pygmy HP-get two of those gray minicell canoe carrier blocks, attach them to the coaming as you would to a canoe gunwale, position them at the balance point, and off you go. The blocks can be shaped to fit your shoulders. I've found that the weight of the boat holds the blocks in place, but you can always cut and glue to fit your situation. The downside-your head is up inside the cockpit, necessitating the occasional peek to see where you're going, and you can't carry a load on your back that projects above yourd shoulders.
