A straight 110% scaling in all directions is not a bad way to increase the displacement of a boat, just remember that the volume increases as a cube of the scale so a 110% scaling causes a 133% increase in volume. The surface area will go up as a square so the wetted surface will increase at a slower rate than the displacement. This should work to the heavier guy's advantage.

While a copy center is not the ideal way to scale a design, it is not out of line. As long as you run the patterns through the machine in the same direction, any change in aspect ratio should not be a problem. I would rather have someone modify my design by scaling it than by messing with form spacing or changing form shapes. A scaled design is the same design, just bigger.
