Mariners Kayaks have a very well thought out approach to deck and associated lines on their website. I'm adapting their approach to my Cape Ann using Greenley loops rather than hard recessed fittings. They do things like use a bow line to serve both that function as well as a perimeter line on the front of the boat. The link below is to a brief description of their deck rigs. Elsewhere on their site, in the online manuals, they go into a lot more detail. Worth a look.
