: Terry.. I am in the process of building my first stich and glue kayak. I
: chose one from CLC (clcboats.com) They are pretty basic even for a first
: timer like myself. The build is going very well and there is so much help
: here and on clc's forum from experianced builders. No question is a dumb
: one and all seem so willing to help. If you don't find a class, get a kit
: and have fun! It is just wood and you can't screw anything up too bad.
: good luck. ps feel free to email if you want more details and or some
: photos of the progress -dave

Where are you located? Maybe someone who has built some kayaks lives in your area? All in all as dave said it isn't that hard and there are plenty of people an email away that can help.
