Terry.. I am in the process of building my first stich and glue kayak. I chose one from CLC (clcboats.com) They are pretty basic even for a first timer like myself. The build is going very well and there is so much help here and on clc's forum from experianced builders. No question is a dumb one and all seem so willing to help. If you don't find a class, get a kit and have fun!
