In Response To: Try a shackle (Mike)

bolt on hardware would seem to have very limited security qualities.

: I assume (dangerous I know) that you have a hole drilled through both the
: stern and the bow.

: If you do you may want to consider using an Anchor Shackle to accomplish your
: objectives. If you are not familiar with this piece of hardware it is a
: very elongated U shape with the open end closed by a bar that screws and
: locks shut. Advantages are that you can attatch it when you need it and
: remove it when you want the boat to look great. The length of the U shape
: is long enough to allow it to pivot up for hand carry and down for use as
: a tie on to the car. works on my Coho anyway - you can buy them in
: stainless steel or in brass for better appearance.
