: I currently have a set of plans for a CLC CH17LT. I am looking to build a 16
: foot version. My question is if there is an easy way to resize the
: measurements on my current plans or should I just purchase a new set of
: plans for the 16 foot version? It would seem to me that I could use the
: same measurements using a shorter distance between measuring points for
: laying out the panels. Thanks for any help.

: Ray , I did this with the regular chesap., for my wife, I started at the very center line, and removed 3 quarters of an inch, on each station, front and aft. also, i lowered the height half an inch, and started wiring at the bow, not knowing what would come out of it all, well, to my surprise, I didn`t have any problem, except that having reduced the height, combined with shortening the length, my feet (size 11), barely fitted (with shoes on) the feet area.Of course, my wife didn`t have this problem.I rode the kayak, and was very pleased ,I also found that the boat was much lighter, than my 17f.Another thing, that pleased me, was that there is no joint at the bow (deck). All in all, it was a try that prooved feasible, with a pleasant boat to ride for my wife.
