Scaling Down S&G Plans

I currently have a set of plans for a CLC CH17LT. I am looking to build a 16 foot version. My question is if there is an easy way to resize the measurements on my current plans or should I just purchase a new set of plans for the 16 foot version? It would seem to me that I could use the same measurements using a shorter distance between measuring points for laying out the panels. Thanks for any help.
