: I got a few small fish eyes in my third fill coat of epoxy. the only thing
: that I did diferently on this fill coat was to lightly tack off the
: surface with a 3M tack cloth.

: Could the the use of the tack cloth have left residue that gave me the fish
: eyes? Has anyone had any simailar problems? I have been using these tack
: cloths for years to tack off before painting without any problems.

: I am using Raka epoxy for the first time and up until now, it has been a
: great product. I don't suspect the epoxy, rather, I suspect the tack
: cloth.

: What do you think folks?

Lots of opinions here. I'll pass along a tip from a furniture maker. To remove that coat of dust use the flat of your hand. Yeah, I know that sounds daft. But, I've never liked tack cloths so I've used this trick on furniture and boats. You'd think the oils on your skin would creat a problem, but I've never found it to be so. Perhaps they've already been lost by handling the wood and working in the dust. On the plus side, your hand is, well, always handy, its renewable (wipe it on your pants when it gets clogged) and lint free!
