:I concur with Ben. It goes against almost everything I know to trap the strip against the fence, but it is the only practical way. Consistency makes all the set-up work worthwhile. Small differences in thickness lead to problems routing coves and beads and, way down the line, fairing the hull. The work to fair in the vicinity of a too-thin strip is way out of proportion to the time and inconvenience required for the ripping set-up. In addition to the aforementioned precautions, take lots of time to make and clamp feather boards to hold the stock down and in.
One of many resolutions for my next boat will be to rip and route more precisely.
