In Response To: To remove "Skunk Work"? (Tony)

Tony,
I know just how your boat feels times 3. I have been hit by a
skunk thrice and my car once. I have tried every home remedy ever
conjured. Bathed in tomato juice and other citrics acids beverages.
Home remedies all go after a weak double carbon bond in the molecule
I had my roomates pour tea (tanic acid) and lysol and diluted bleach
on me just to try out all the PH options. and all that came out of
it was my roomates entirely enjoyed to much dishing it up on the
stinking one. Most of the remidies knocked down the stink some what
but it comes back and so the treatment has to be reapplied.

The one thing that has ever worked for me (AKA skun magnet) and worked immediatly was product called skunk-off. Its an enzyme that breaks
not only the the weak carbon bond but also chops into other parts of the odiferous molecule. Most back packing stores have a supply close
by the door or window.

Larger supplies can be found at vetrenary clinics. For reasons
obvious not all dogs are as smart as Rocky. Thinking I might have to
take a few pointers from that dog... Lives in a boat shop avoids skunks....
Pretty smart dog

In any case, I swear by skunk off, One aplication and its done. It
comes in small gram sized bottles but one contianer cleans me up
and I am 6'4". So get a few bottles or talk to a vet for the supply
bottles and apply it to a rag and swipe it around.

Presently have a skunk who lives in my wood pile He gives me a warning
shot every night just to let me know which end not to pick from.
We co-exist peacefully, but just in case, I keep a bottle of the
good stuff around.

Best of luck and keep yer nose into the wind :)
