Hi MBF;

Since you have experience with furniture making, may I humbly recommend a strip built kayak? The plywood craft are nice, as evidenced by the plethora of beautiful ply boats that have been launched this spring. The stripper will take a bit longer, but should prove a "keeper" and serve as a benchmark of your woodworking ability.

While I'm on the subject, might I also recommend doing it sans staples and that cove & bead stuff . . . You probably never used those on an endtable, so why change your woodworking style now? ;-)

You can view my attempt using the above criteria at the link at the bottom of this post. Whatever you choose will most likely turn out great, and good luck in your kayak building project.

Best Regards, Spidey
