I used printed fabric on the deck of a WW squirt boat and friend used it on a hull once. Supposedly the 100%poly is better but I used a 50/50 blend with no problems for 4 years now. My experience was however with female molds, and there is a pretty thick layer of gelcoat and metal flake over it. The only problems I see are making sure you don't sand into it, possible strength issues if it is between the glass and wood (but that might be just fine), finally it will not conform to compound curves very well. Might want to try wetting it out with water first to see if it will conform adequatley to your hull. If it does not it can be cut or made smaller until it does.

One of these days I will post a picture of the boat I did with it.

: i am currently working on building a queen charlot 17 from pygmy boats. i was
: wondering in anyone has ever used a printed fabric in expoy resin to
: create a design over a hull of a kayak before. i'm quite sure someone has,
: and was wondering how it looked? i'm thinking of doing this to the bottom
: of my kayak instead of useing the standard fiberglass weave. i do intend
: to use the fiberglass weave on all the seams inside and out, but then
: cover it with a hawaiin print fabric. is this a disaster in the making?
: please let me know...brett
