Put the printed fabric under the glass cloth, but don't leave out the glass altogether--your fabric and marine plywood won't be nearly as abrasion resistant as that glass cloth, and after a couple seasons of beachings, you could wear a hole through the bottom of your boat.

I like the fabric idea; just not by itself.

: i am currently working on building a queen charlot 17 from pygmy boats. i was
: wondering in anyone has ever used a printed fabric in expoy resin to
: create a design over a hull of a kayak before. i'm quite sure someone has,
: and was wondering how it looked? i'm thinking of doing this to the bottom
: of my kayak instead of useing the standard fiberglass weave. i do intend
: to use the fiberglass weave on all the seams inside and out, but then
: cover it with a hawaiin print fabric. is this a disaster in the making?
: please let me know...brett
