: i am currently working on building a queen charlot 17 from pygmy boats. i was
: wondering in anyone has ever used a printed fabric in expoy resin to
: create a design over a hull of a kayak before. i'm quite sure someone has,
: and was wondering how it looked? i'm thinking of doing this to the bottom
: of my kayak instead of useing the standard fiberglass weave. i do intend
: to use the fiberglass weave on all the seams inside and out, but then
: cover it with a hawaiin print fabric. is this a disaster in the making?
: please let me know...brett

if you've ever seen swift paddles... they do custom fabric work here they laminate a patterned fabric of whatever you send them. so it can be done. but the typpe of fabric you use should be one that will not do badthings in the resin. what you should do is test it on some scrap would and see how it looks. if you do use the regular fabric you should put it under a thin layer of fibreglass for sure
