I haven't heard any bashing from either of these companies for some time. Lee at CLC speaks highly of Pygmys, and I talked to John Lockwood at Pygmy and and he had good things to say about CLC. The people on this board have also been very good, not getting into a Pygmy vs. CLC war.

Both companies have good kayaks, some models are better than others for certain things, but I like both companies, although I haven't built a CLC yet.

I figured out why CLCs tend to come out overweight and Pygmys tend to be closer to their spec weight. Pygmy gives you just enough glass and 'poxy, while CLC gives you (or recommends to you with plans) more than you need. Just an observation in one of the differences between the companies.
