Shawn, I think that I might be on the right track. I ended up with 30 oz plus wood flour for the fillets, and 18 oz for taping the seams, glassing the cockpit, and sealing the rest of the interior.

John: you are right about the bow and stern, they are tough. I didn't have much trouble with the bow, but the stern is ugly, ugly. Guess that's why we put decks on these things. It was hot here too, but the basement is still a balmy 60 degrees. No problem with the hardner. I understand about the panels being symmetric, but I didn't think that that would guarantee a fair keel (no high or low spots). I've never been one to begrudge dumb luck.

For the record: I mixed 2 12 oz epoxy batches and one 6 oz epoxy batch plus wood flour for the fillets. Much like the manual said, I made the fillets about as wide as the stitches, and just thick enough to cover the wires. I was afraid that I'd made the fillet mix a little too thick, but when I laid the 'glass tape (precut, of course) on the fillets, some epoxy soaked through.

I saturated the tape and glassed the cockpit with about 18 oz of epoxy. For the glass cloth, the best bet was the pour and squeegie method. A bristle brush worked great on the tape, letting me tip out the air beneath the tape. The ends were a mess, but I mushed and poured and thanked God for latex gloves.
