Epoxy 101

Okay, I'm a little out of practice. The North Bay has been essentially "done" for several months --- less paint and varnish --- so I haven't had to mess about with epoxy for a while. However, early this morning, I wanted to drill some deck fitting holes and fill them with cabosil-thickened epoxy so that I could later drill them out for bungies after all had cured. Same with cavities for retainer screws for a strap across the bow to hold down the storm paddle. Went to the small workbench where I keep the epoxy containers, burped the big pump and the small pump carefully, took one careful measure of each, and stirred thoroughly. Mixed in the cabosil, and carefully filled the voids. Checked tonight, and nothing had happened --- just some really messy, wet, non-cooked holes. After a sinking thought, went to the bench and examined the big pump --- resin --- and the small pump --- resin. Both blue. Right next to each other --- but not like always.

The question: anybody want to guess how long I have to let these voids dry out before mixing up some TWO-part epoxy to create sleeves and plugs? I pipe-cleanered them out pretty well, and I know that resin will never really dry out, but is there some rule of thumb about letting the stuff soak in or dry out?

Thanks for any spare encouragement!
