I built Patuxent 19.5 last year and I am quite happy with it for my day paddling - lakes in Colorado and Wyoming. I haven't tried any overnight trips yet. After reading comments about a weak deck in a standard version, I used 4 mm plywood for the deck instead of 3mm and also put some glass inside the cockpit, so my boat is somewhat heavier but stronger. It is tippy but I got used to it rather quickly. The secondary stability is pretty solid. I have some more information and pictures on my site. I don't have comparison with other CLC kayak or, in fact, with any hard shell kayaks since I've spent all my life with folding kayaks.
