Hi Hank,

I use a brand called Duramix made by PEC. Punch Duramix into your search engine and their site will come up. Any autobody supply store should carry it and if they don't their competitor will.

There are different formulations for different applications but they are all the same. The only differences are working times ( 10 sec.- 30 minutes.) and flexability.(Some applications require the adhesive to flex so there is an additive put in.)

The most common and versatile is 4040. It has a reasonable working time and yet cures quickly enough. These are 100% water proof and are structural adhesives. (They are glueing frames on cars together with them!!) They range from 400-900 psi. so doing the math on the area of the foot pegs will tell you how strong it is.

They come in 2 sizes. The larger size requires a dispensing gun, the smaller is self dispensing. They are expensive, about $26.00 canadian for the large tube but it will do about 10 sets of foot pegs.

The other good thing about urethanes is that they cure faster with humidity.

The place you get Duramix from should have training tapes available for you to view. You will be amazed at how easy this stuff is to work with. If they don't have the tapes available ask if a Duramix rep. will do a demo for you, its free.

I have a brochure on Duramix but no scanner to post it!!

The only other brands that I am aware of are 3M and Dominion Sure Seal, both work well but are a little harder to use than the Duramix. I have used them for about 10 years and have never had a failure, including splicing the roof cap on a Kenworth logging truck and then having the truck roll over a couple of weeks later. Roof cap was broken but not even a crack through the urethane.
