On my last project, a David Hazen canoe, I layed down 6 progessively smaller, bias cut strips, on the bow and stern. This left a very staggered effect, with all those edges. After feathering with a random orbit sander, everything looked fine. There was some slight whiteish areas of glass fiber showing, but one more thin coat of epoxy and light sanding and all was well. Just be careful not to cut into the main glass layer beyond the strip edges. Jerry Siegel
