Hi Nolan, I did the same for the wetting out. It works great. Being a first timer, last fall I attended a fiberglassing demo at Newfound Woodworkers rendezvous. I followed there recommendations, the roller gets used after all is wetted out and smooths out everything like any drips or runs very nicely. I'm not sure but maybe the problem you had with froth was from a foam roller. Mike from Newfound Woodworkers swears by the bristle roller and his work was beautiful. I just followed his lead and was not sorry I did.
