I like to fill the weave with very very thin coats of epoxy applied with a roller and then tipped off with a foam brush. It usually takes 5 thin coats (which translates to 5 nights but you make it up at the end) When it comes time to sand there are no runs, sags, or drips and I usually end up with a very smooth surface with hardly any sanding at all. You might try this method for filling what weave remains on your boat.... Hope this helps Edgar
