Reckless Operation?
By:Bill Heuser

A friend of mine is going to court today. She pled not guilty to a reckless operation trafic ticket. She was stopped for speeding and the officer added reckless operation because she had a kayak on the roof of her car. The officer said that it's big boat and could come off and hurt someone if she were in an accident. She had a Yakama rack, cradles, nylon straps...the works. I'll keep you posted on how this turns out. The incident was reported in the "letters" portion of Sea Kayaker Magazine.
