I know this is an old post, but I had to add my $.02

I'd be less worried about meeting someone on a Kayak Building BBS, than on some sex bbs! Actually, I've met Pete Rudie, Pete Roszyk, Ed Valley, and Dale Frolander in person, and they're all great guys. None of them held me up at chisel-point!
