The Jeepster is a pretty cool car. In the early post-war years, Jeep tried to capitalize on its popularity and brought out a really cool roadster for playboy types. There was also a farm jeep (the CJ-3 or something) that had a power-take-off (PTO) shaft in the back so you could attach farm implements to bale hay, etc.

I can't remember the exact chronology of corporate combinations, but I'm pretty sure Jeep didn't become a member of the Chrysler family until the 1980s when Chrysler absorbed AMC. I'm not sure who owned Jeep during the time of the Jeepster (Willys?), but I'm pretty sure Buick was never involved.
